In August 2025, Norway's DNB Manufacturing Purchasing Managers' Index (PMI) slipped to 49.6, down from 51.1 in July, indicating a slight shift back into contraction. The production index decreased from 53.3 in July to 51.9. The pace of new orders also slowed, registering at 50.1 compared to 50.4 previously, with both domestic (48.9) and export orders (45.5) remaining below the growth threshold. Inventory levels of purchased goods declined from 49.2 to 48.8, suggesting increased demand and thereby bolstering the overall index. However, the employment index saw a decrease, falling to 42.8 from 46.7. Additionally, delivery times improved from 55 to 52.9, which is generally indicative of reduced activity levels. The input prices index increased by 4.9 points to 61.5 in August, highlighting ongoing price inflation.
