2025.09.0102:54:37UTC+00Irish Manufacturing Growth at 5-Month Low

The AIB Ireland Manufacturing PMI saw a reduction, registering at 51.6 in August 2025 compared to 53.2 in July, signaling the slowest growth since March. Production increased at its lowest rate in seven months due to tepid customer demand, with new orders rising at their most sluggish pace since January. Export sales declined for the fourth time in five months, doing so at the quickest rate since May. Additionally, purchasing activity saw a slight decrease, ending a four-month period of growth. Supplier delivery times continued to extend for the fourth straight month, attributed to transportation delays. On the pricing side, input cost inflation slowed to its weakest rate since June 2024. Conversely, output cost inflation rose to its highest level since February. Looking ahead, business confidence reached an eight-month peak, buoyed by anticipated improvements in global trade conditions and stronger customer demand.
