2025.09.1213:18:18UTC+00Poland’s Trade Deficit Widens in July

Poland recorded a trade deficit of €1.27 billion in July 2025, expanding from the €1.17 billion deficit reported in the same month of the previous year. This increase was attributed to import growth surpassing that of exports. Exports experienced a 2.7% rise, reaching €28.2 billion, and marked the third consecutive month of improvement. This growth was primarily fueled by re-exports of clothing, footwear, and toys, as well as increased agricultural prices and a recovery in the automotive sector, with notable sales in buses, cars, and trucks. Nonetheless, the sectors of metals and other intermediate goods continued to weigh down performance. On the other hand, imports rose by 3% to €29.5 billion, driven by goods earmarked for re-export and a significant upsurge in passenger car acquisitions from China, marking the highest level seen this year. The decline in global oil prices helped contain the value of fuel imports, while reduced industrial activity weakened demand for intermediate goods.
