2016.11.0623:03:00UTC+00Dollar Rallies on FBI Email Conclusion

The dollar climbed following the FBI's latest review which stated that no charges were warranted in Democratic representative Hillary Clinton's case. The dollar rose against the Japanese yen by 1.1 percent at 104.275.

Markets likely saw U.S. presidential contender Clinton as the status quo candidate, and news that show favour to her winning usually raises risk appetite. The euro declined 0.5 percent to $1.1089. The greenback climbed against the Swiss franc 0.6 percent at $0.9739. The news of the emails had supported Donald Trump in some polls and also unsettled global markets. The U.S. dollar dropped 2.2 percent at 18.59 pesos against the dollar, the weakest since Oct. 26.

The pound weakened against the greenback at $1.2485. It was jolted by news of a possible parliamentary conflict over Prime Minister Theresa May's plan to leave the European Union, as looming threat regarding Brexit divides the U.K. government.
