In the second quarter of 2025, Lithuania's economy experienced a modest growth of 0.3% on a quarterly basis, a slight improvement over the preliminary estimate of a 0.2% increase, though it represents a slowdown from the 0.6% growth observed in the prior quarter. Analyzing the production side, notable drags on GDP performance were observed primarily in sectors such as financial and insurance activities, which declined by 0.6% compared to the previous quarter's 2.9% rise, construction, which fell by 1.5% against a 1% increase, industry, which decreased by 0.4% compared to a 1.8% rise, and manufacturing, which declined by 0.5% following a 1.7% growth in the previous quarter. From an expenditure perspective, government spending contracted by 1% following a 1.6% increase, and capital formation saw a more pronounced decline of 10.2% compared to a 2.9% drop previously. Conversely, household consumption saw a recovery, growing by 2.3% after a 2.5% contraction in the preceding quarter. On an annual scale, Lithuania's GDP grew by 3.1% in the second quarter of 2025, a deceleration from the 3.4% increase recorded in the earlier quarter.
