In July 2025, Hungary's industrial production decreased by 1% compared to the same month the previous year, aligning with initial projections. This marked an improvement from the 4.9% decline seen in June. The manufacturing sector experienced a slower reduction in production volume, dipping by just 0.5%, compared to a 5.3% fall in the preceding month. This was primarily due to increased output in the creation of computer, electronic, and optical products. Conversely, the mining and quarrying industry saw a notable decline of 8.5%, a reversal from a 5.2% increase earlier, while production in electricity, gas, steam, and air-conditioning sectors decreased further to 7.2%, down from a marginal 0.1% drop previously. When adjusted for seasonality, industrial activity in July rose by 2%, bouncing back from a 1.2% decline in the prior period. Analyzing the year-to-date data, industrial production over the first seven months of the year was 3.5% below the same timeframe from the previous year.
